Freedom of choice is one of the great advantages of the modern era. This also applies to thermal insulation - some choose based on price, others based on knowledge, and others yet based on time and local availability. If the criteria are quality, tradition, and final appearance, two contact insulation systems should not escape your attention - StoTherm Wood and StoTherm Classic.

Especially for wooden buildings, the StoTherm Wood insulation system is intended

Thanks to wood fiber thermal insulation boards, it represents an ecological system that is biodegradable when combined with a top mineral render. The best-selling ecological contact insulation system in the world has been on the market for 20 years and excels not only on diffusion-closed facades but has also been tested on the diffusion-open constructions of contemporary wooden buildings. The system can be applied directly to a supporting wooden structure, to the outer walls of wooden buildings with or without cladding made of standardized wood-based boards, on solid wooden formwork, wooden construction elements, and laminated wood. It is excellently applicable on existing buildings as well as new constructions and is suitable for economical, low-energy, and passive houses. The durability and classification of the StoTherm Wood contact insulation system are confirmed by European technical certificates (ETA). The soft wood fiber insulation boards are the heart of the system, allowing StoTherm Wood to create comfort all year round. In winter, it prevents heat loss (thermal conductivity is just 0.039 W/m²K), while in summer, the high thermal capacity of the insulation boards keeps the façade system pleasantly cooler for longer. Low μ values (resistance to water vapor diffusion) confirm the high diffusion openness of the board. An outer wall insulated with this system (with an insulation board thickness of 10 cm) reduces noise in the wooden structure to a value of Rw = 50 dB. Silence in the house is thus guaranteed. The façade system is, of course, certified for structures with increased fire resistance.

Facades insulated with the StoTherm Classic system do not know the word complaint

One of the most successful contact insulation systems can also offer your house certainty and long-lasting durability. Over 50 years, thanks to the backing of the Sto group, it has developed into a product that wins over the competition with exceptionally high reliability: its number of complaints in global markets has long been around zero despite the area realized (around 120 million m² during its existence)!

StoTherm Classic reduces heat loss, creates highly durable protection against rain and weather conditions, and is resistant to microorganisms that cause moss and mold on the façade, thanks to microcapsules in the top renders. There are no limits to color; the StoColor color samples (800 shades) and AC - Architectural Colours (approximately 300 mineral shades) provide more than enough basis for selecting your preferred color variant. Also attractive is the top coat with a scraped texture StoLotusan K/MP with a self-cleaning lotus effect. Need a clean façade, no matter what happens? Then the Sto group has prepared strongly water-repellent façade paints StoColor Dryonic for you, which, due to their micro-structured surface, effectively directs rainwater and condensed water away. Some of this is also done by the competition, but StoTherm Classic goes even further in its advantages. Thanks to its properties, it is more resistant to higher heating of the façade, making it very suitable for applying the most saturated color shades. And the list of advantages does not end here. A high resistance to errors is provided by the non-cement reinforcing compound StoArmat Classic plus, with excellent ability to take on tension. A bending strength test demonstrates up to 10 times higher elasticity and resistance of the StoTherm Classic system to crack formation compared to mineral systems. The high resistance to crack formation additionally helps maintain a constant temperature in the masonry and protect the building stock. The mechanical resistance of the entire system is extraordinarily high - it is up to thirty times greater compared to mineral systems (15 Joules for the StoTherm Classic system compared to 0.5 to 1 J for mineral systems).
