Perfect door control – no handle, no lock, no electronics, no faults… meet the innovative M&T magnetic system developed for swing doors.

In simplicity lies perfection. The innovative M&T magnetic system operates on the principle of very strong magnets placed in the door frame, the counterpart being a block of magnetic stainless steel embedded in the door leaf. When the two parts are brought close together, the magnetic force smoothly and almost silently closes the door without extending any latch element. The closed door leaf is firmly held in the frame solely by the magnetic force. The magnets pass each other and do not touch, so only a gentle contact of the door with the seal is heard during closing. Opening the door leaf is then absolutely silent. Moreover, the strength of the magnets can be easily and intuitively adjusted using a small Allen key. By turning it, the magnets can be brought closer together or moved apart, thereby increasing or decreasing the strength of their mutual interaction.

Since there is no mechanical contact in the system, the wear of components is eliminated, thus extending the lifespan of the door control. “For more than twenty years, we have been dedicated to producing high-quality door handles that we continuously improve. Even so, we know that doors with handles and locks are not completely faultless; they require regular maintenance and later also service interventions,” says Roman Ulich, the chief designer of M&T and designer of the M&T magnetic system, adding: “That’s why we wanted more. We developed a system inspired by the simple opening of a refrigerator, a system for controlling swing doors without a handle, without a lock, and therefore without maintenance, service, or faults – we developed Magnetic.”

The M&T magnetic system is complemented by original grip handles that feature sophisticated ergonomics while maintaining a minimalist appearance. “All models are available in various finishes for perfect integration with the surface of the door and the entire interior – from various options of natural brass to special titanium surfaces in matte dark shades. This is not a coating or varnish, but a specially applied hard metal layer that guarantees high resistance to abrasion and scratching,” states Roman Ulich. For selected models, the control area of the handles is even filled with magnetic plates that have the same surface as the doors, achieving the effect of partially hidden handles, where only the edge contour of the handle and its gripping area remain visible.

All handle models are also available with a cylinder locking option, or WC/bathroom locking, which is integrated into some models. The control segment hidden in the handle provides an unprecedented impression, as the lock does not disrupt the design purity of the door leaf.

The innovative solution of the M&T magnetic system has been confirmed by the granting of a national patent.
