Rigips brings a new product – rafter extension for efficient insulation in the attic

By using the rafter extension, it is possible to add up to 120 mm more mineral insulation under the rafter than was previously possible. This represents a completely new option for insulation solutions in attics on our market.
The rafter extension is attached using two screws from the side of the rafters, and layers of mineral insulation are inserted into the attic cavity.
The Rigips attic variant using the rafter extension also allows for a "safer" position of the vapor barrier. This means it is not placed directly above the drywall cladding, creating space for electrical installations in the cavity between the drywall and the vapor barrier. Another advantage is the possibility of better sealing of the connection of the vapor barrier to adjacent and penetrating constructions and roof elements.
Equally important is the ease of applying the vapor barrier, thanks to discs of double-sided adhesive tape placed on the lower edge of the rafter extension.
The new construction variants are supported by static calculations and fire resistance classification certificates.
