The ELEEA luminaire by Zumtobel

ELEEA was designed in collaboration with the architectural studio Ingenhoven Architekten with the aim of impressing through its own, deliberately inconspicuous, even austere design. Architect Lutz Büsing from Ingenhoven Architekten explains: “Gently rounded vertical edges of the luminaire contrast with sharp horizontal lines; the pure white body literally wants to dematerialize the luminaire and remove the boundaries between space and technical, functional elements“. ELEEA features a strictly linear design with clean colors and a style that harmonizes with modern architecture. As a straightforward element, ELEEA integrates into the space through a clear definition of color and a language of shapes. Even the technical components such as brackets and connectors are in white. The ceiling canopy developed exclusively for the ELEEA luminaire is a functional detail of the consistently created family of luminaires. It expresses the same language of shapes and combines it with high functionality.

ELLEA combines high energy efficiency of direct lighting with harmonious distribution of brightness on ceilings and walls, typical of indirect luminaires. Thanks to a very wide light distribution, it creates high uniformity and thus ensures a vertical level of illumination for a pleasant atmosphere. With parameters of 2 W/m²/100 lx, ELEEA is a modern, contemporary direct/indirect lighting solution.

The top-tier ELEEA LED - Hybrid luminaire opens up possibilities for design and lighting solutions for the most demanding interiors due to the wide range of different light sources, which can be turned on or dimmed independently. LED sources, as the indirect component, illuminate the ceiling and walls, while fluorescent tubes are used for the direct component of the luminaire.

For suspended luminaires, the innovative optical system consists of patented upper and transverse reflectors. ELEEA thus clearly and evenly illuminates the ceiling even at the minimum mounting height of just 15 cm. The upper perforated reflector allows 25% of the light to pass through to the ceiling.

ELEEA is available in compact single or double lengths. For the continuous line system, connecting elements and elegant corner connectors are available. Both suspended and surface-mounted versions are available with a grid or LRO (Luminance Reduction Optic).

Since April 1, 2010, Zumtobel has been one of the first luminaire manufacturers to offer a five-year warranty on its complete range of products, and ELEEA is also provided with this guarantee. With this step, Zumtobel emphasizes its leading position in innovation, design, and quality. The unilateral extension of the warranty to 5 years applies to the complete lighting system from Zumtobel, including control gear or operational components. For luminaires with LED sources, this warranty also includes the LED diodes. The only exceptions are consumable parts such as conventional sources or batteries for emergency luminaires.

Most ELEEA luminaires carry the eco+ label. This is a new designation for high-quality products based on criteria evaluating energy consumption, environmental friendliness, and quality of light. eco+ is a comparative designation for products that evaluates the entire system of components used along with the quality of light emitted by the luminaire. Zumtobel employs criteria for eco+ that are 20% stricter than generally established values.
