Opava – Those interested in building plots in the new residential district of Stromovka in Opava can submit applications for their purchase until August 31. In the first phase, the city offers 54 plots designated for individual construction of family houses. If more applicants express interest in a particular plot, a public lottery with the participation of a notary will determine the new owner. This was stated by the city spokesman Roman Konečný.
Only natural persons, that is, individuals, spouses, or co-owners, may apply for the plots. Legal entities, such as companies, cannot participate in the sale. Interested individuals can indicate up to three plots in their application, but they can only acquire one.
The price of the plots is set at 4,200 crowns per square meter, including VAT. The condition for the sale is, among other things, the subsequent establishment of permanent residence in the newly built house. The application also requires a deposit of 100,000 crowns, which must be paid no later than August 31.
"Opava has long faced a shortage of housing, and Stromovka is one of the steps to address this situation. I believe it will offer quality housing in one of the most beautiful places in the city and at the same time bring new residents to Opava," said Mayor Tomáš Navrátil (ANO).
Stromovka is being developed behind the Slezská hospital complex. In the future, around 300 family houses, complemented by a park, public spaces, children's and sports playgrounds, a pond, and other civic amenities, are expected to be built here. The location will be equipped with the necessary infrastructure, and the project also includes ecological measures such as rainwater management and modern public lighting.
