1959-62 - Nicholas Thomas Grimshaw attended the Edinburgh College of Art
1962-65 - studied at the Architectural Association School in London
1963 - made a study trip to Sweden thanks to a scholarship
1964 - study trip to the USA
1965 - graduated from AA School in London. Received a bronze medal from the French Société d'Architectes Diplomés par le Gouvernement for one of the three best diploma projects at AA.
1967 - became a member of RIBA
1965-80 - partner at the London office of Terence Farrell
1980 - founded Nicholas Grimshaw & Partners
1988 - became a member of the Chartered Society of Designers
1993 - received an honorary doctorate from the London University of South Bank and the honorary title of Commander of the British Empire
1994 - elected Vice-President of AA, member of the Royal Academy and the American AIA
