The house is built in the historical environment of the heritage zone of the town of Boskovice, on the border with the Jewish ghetto, and oriented with its facade towards Masaryk Square - near the Gothic church of St. Jacob. The proposed new building is a transcription of the current construction intention into these urban and architectural principles: it is part of the street front of traditional urban development in this part of the square characterized by two-story houses with hipped roofs, an "L" shaped floor plan with an economic wing extending into the depth of the plot, an irregularly receding street line, and a passage or gate into the courtyard.
It consists of the realized object oriented towards the square and the gate with a passage along the neighboring house. The "L" floor plan will be supplemented by the mass of the adjoining family house in the courtyard, attached to the southeast side of the plot (to be realized in the 2nd phase). The site is closed by the garage building.
The shape seeks a response with modern elements to the suitable coexistence with plasticity and scale in the given historical context. These elements include a travertine cornice and a break in the wall at the level of the 2nd floor, as well as the cladding of the portal on the ground floor. From an operational perspective, the house is vertically divided into a commercial ground floor and a separate residential unit on the upper floor and attic. The apartment, accessible via an outdoor staircase through a terrace on the 2nd floor, is complemented by an open artist's studio space and a terrace on the 3rd floor.
