Restaurant Fresco Gusto

The original dilapidated building with an unused storefront located in Dolní Počernice became the cornerstone for the restaurant, café, and bakery Fresco Gusto. Initially, the idea was to create a bakery with a few tables for seating. Over time, along with the investor, we arrived at a proposal to renovate the entire building including the attic and the basement found during construction.
We cleared the original building of all internal structures and allowed the original, though not historic, beautiful constructions to shine - the brick wall, wooden truss, basement. In the footprint of the dilapidated extension, we proposed to add a glass structure open to the patio - the garden. The extension contrasts with the original building in concept while simultaneously creating a connection between the interior and exterior.
We opened the original part into the truss. Above the service area, a gallery was created accessible by a staircase from the entrance. A significant portion of the footprint was taken by the sales counter and bar. As one moves from the old to the new part, the flooring material underfoot changes from planks to a concrete screed. Roof windows are replaced by a ceiling illuminated by three surface lights covered with Barrisol, the middle of which mirrors the glazed opening into the wine cellar. Through sliding windows, we access the shaded garden, from which there is a staircase leading to the aforementioned cellar. The northern side of the garden is bordered by a wooden structure for storing outdoor furniture, which will gradually become overgrown with greenery.
