Reconstruction of the old rural cottage for living was divided into several phases. The first phase was the complete remodeling of the daily living area. The space, originally divided into two rooms, was merged into one open living room, which includes the kitchen, dining area, and living room. Adjacent to the kitchen, accessible from the hallway, is a spacious pantry. The passageway leads to the stair hall and further to the attic.
The centerpiece of the space, apart from the newly installed wooden beam ceiling, is the prominent built-in furniture - a low wooden cabinet that runs along both outer walls, concealing radiators, emphasizing the rhythm of the windows, one of which, previously bricked up, has been restored, and is capped with a sofa. It also serves as valuable storage space, allowing a family with three children to keep the room free from constant clutter. This large piece of furniture is made of larch wood, as is the floor. This creates a cozy wooden recess.
To ensure enough money was left for this piece, the aim was to use as much of the original equipment as possible, so the original doors were repainted and slightly modified, original chairs were refurbished, and the kitchen countertop is largely composed of components from the original kitchen, only completely rearranged. The island was made entirely new, the kitchen was painted white, and new negative handles were milled.
The dining table was custom designed for this space and is also made of larch.
The color scheme of the interior has been reduced to neutral shades so that nothing competes with the larch wood.
During use, there have been no spontaneous changes in the arrangement and furnishings of the space; the solution designed entirely suits the family.
