A unique collection of more than 150 models of buildings by the legendary architect Le Corbusier will be presented at the Faculty of Architecture of the Czech Technical University in Prague. The exhibition will be complemented by a photography display, guided tours, and two lecture evenings. The opening will take place on Tuesday, April 18, at 6 PM.
The traveling exhibition includes both realized and unrealized projects, with models created in the studio of RT+Q Architects. These were made by interns before they joined the studio. The exhibition will also feature a series of photographs by Petr Vorlík, Petr Šmídek, Tomáš Klanc, Nina Bartošová, and Martin Hora from their personal travels to Le Corbusier's buildings. Drawings by students who regularly participate in workshops at the Dominican monastery La Tourette in France as part of the studio teaching by ZAN Brožová, Hůrka, and Šrámek will also be on display.
As part of the accompanying program, visitors can look forward to a guided tour of the exhibition with architectural historian Rostislav Švácha and two lecture evenings, which will illuminate the international environment of the architect's Paris studio, references of his work in Slovak and Czech architecture, as well as the role of women, particularly Jane Drew, in proximity to Le Corbusier. In the FA library, there will be a comprehensive collection of publications from faculty collections and a digital archive of NTK Le Corbusier – Plans in ARTSTOR with over 38,000 items of notes, sketches, drawings, and photographs.
The opening will take place on April 18, 2023, at 6:00 PM in the atrium of the FA CTU with the presence of representatives from the RT+Q Architects studio and Czech curators Petr Vorlík, Michaela Brožová, Lucie Mlynčeková, Gabriela Nováková, and Miroslav Pavel. The exhibition will last until April 28, 2023. The event is organized by the Institute of Theory and History of Architecture in collaboration with the Institute of Design III and the Institute of Fine Arts.
