A remarkable event is culminating, providing an opportunity for aspiring architects. Until September 11, 2023, at 6:00 PM, architecture and landscape architecture students can submit their works for the 7th edition of the prestigious competition organized in honor of the world-renowned architect and Kladno native Antonín Raymond. It is announced every odd year by the Statutory City of Kladno and architect David Vávra in collaboration with the Czech Centre Tokyo and Raymond Architectural Design Office in Japan.

The task for this year's edition of the competition is to find a new purpose for the site of the former LaPark hotel in the suburban forest on the outskirts of Kladno.

The collaboration with the Czech Centre Tokyo is not accidental. Antonín Raymond is considered the founder of modern Japanese architecture. The main prize for the winning student will be a two-week stay in Japan, coupled with a tour of the buildings designed by architect Raymond and a visit to his studio. At the same time, the mayor of the city, Milan Volf, will award prizes for second and third place with financial rewards.

More about the competition and the person of Antonín Raymond can be found on the website.
