Prague - Architectural studios can apply today for the competition regarding the reconstruction of the Cibulka homestead in Prague's Košíře, where the Vlček family foundation plans to build a children's hospice and care center for dying child patients. The jury will select five finalists from the submitted portfolios, who will create competition designs. The results are expected to be announced in February of next year.

Ondřej Vlček is the CEO of the antivirus company Avast. Together with his wife Katarína, they established a charitable foundation, into which they invested 1.5 billion crowns. The couple purchased the long-neglected Prague homestead at the beginning of the year, and the foundation intends to start reconstruction next year, with estimated costs of 300 million crowns excluding VAT according to the competition requirements published.

The competition will take place in the form of a so-called competitive workshop, meaning in dialogue between the participants and the jury. The jury will consist of five architects, the Vlček couple, and the foundation's director Ivana Plechatá. The selected five architectural studios will have until the end of November to develop their designs, followed by presentations and the opportunity to refine their proposals based on the jury's recommendations, which will then select the winner.
