Proposal Annotation: The intention is to make Loučná accessible and integrate it into the organism of Litomyšl, to create a greater connection between its banks, and to develop an urban and landscape framework for residents' recreational activities. The aim is to create two parks that are connected, rather than divided, by Loučná.
Jury Evaluation: The proposal is clear and unique in its concept of a pathway, promenade alongside the river, designed in the form of reinforced banks, a bay with a terraced bank, a hanging walkway, and a gravel path. A pleasant element that respects the character and atmosphere of the environment is the wooden pedestrian bridge. The terrain modification associated with the design of the bay leads to the proposal of an elevated terrace for pétanque and a café defined by a stone wall, which creates an insensitive barrier. The design of the children's playground, the selection of play elements, and the arrangement of impact areas do not appear convincing. The gravel path proposed along the left bank of Loučná does not bring any fundamentally new quality and requires significant intervention for the new sloping of the banks. The change in the design of the pedestrian bridge and the sensitive modifications in the Park near Smetanova House are positively assessed. It is a conceptually pleasant proposal.
