Prague - The Association of Architects will tonight award its annual prizes at the Trade Fair Palace in Prague as part of the Grand Prix competition. From Wednesday, an exhibition of the awarded works will also take place at the same venue, lasting until June 15. The Grand Prix is a non-anonymous competition for architectural works completed in the past year within the territory of the Czech Republic. Foreign architects, designers, and artists can also compete. The annual prizes are awarded in seven categories - new construction, reconstruction, interior, landscape architecture and garden design, urbanism, architectural design, and small architecture and artistic work in architecture. The main award is the Grand Prix. During the ceremonial announcement of the winners, the award for significant lifetime achievement is traditionally presented to a Czech architect. The laureate is proposed by the Association of Architects. The prizes are honorary.
