Judges' assessment: The author of the thesis project chose as the theme of his work the resolution of a large estate in a smaller village, of which there are many in the Czech lands. By using a cyclical approach and developing many variations of the design, he maintains the large scale of the original estate. The expressive form of the newly designed objects adds a distinctive poetry to this project. The jury appreciates the artistic value of the proposal as well as its graphic processing.

The former Premonstratensian estate is now a dead spot in the middle of the village, filled with occasional operations; the current state is unsustainable for the future.
An architecturally valuable complex, but not untouchable

Character of the assignment: The program is not predefined; the task is to find the most suitable content and form, a new role for the farm in the life of the village. Economic and heritage criteria are not considered mandatory.

What is important and beautiful about the estate?
Primarily the large scale of the estate and its urban role. It is one of the three basic elements in the structure of the old village.
The most valuable parts are the Baroque granary and the blacksmith's shop.
Additionally, the barns from the second half of the 19th century. I attempted to fill them with a new function suitable for the central location—housing, rental spaces. However, the intervention devalued the original and distorted the new. I decided to replace the barns with a new building with the same purpose within the village.

How to highlight the large scale, the expansiveness?
To present a series of solitary buildings in front of the long mass, thereby measuring its length. The solitaires relate in size to the monumental buildings of the village— the rectory and the church opposite.
As clear points indicating a possible heart of the community.
Contents with significance for the village—a new municipal office, studios of the Arts School, library-media center.
The solitaires also delineate the entrance areas to the estate.
The back wall consists of a new long building with apartments, with commercial spaces on the ground floor. The high openings correspond to the gaps between the solitaires.
Other buildings completing the perimeter of the estate are addressed only schematically.
The estate should function as a public space in the second plan, more intimate than the square, protected but readable from the main street.
Three different types of buildings border the estate; it is necessary to connect the estate to them—through pedestrian paths, staircases, passages. The surrounding buildings should be densified, brought up to the mighty walls of the estate.
Traditional materials, masonry plastered constructions.

Regarding the individual buildings:
Municipal office - the meeting room is intentionally located on the ground floor—on the pavement of the estate, accessible and visible to all. When heading to the offices on the upper floor, it is possible to avoid it via the external staircase. This creates a shelter, and an official bulletin board may be attached to the inner side.

Art section of the Arts School: High spaces with an inserted intermediate floor arranged one above the other. A balcony on the top floor as a new viewpoint over the entire village. This building is the tallest—similarly, it could be the media center—this should correspond to the importance of their mission. Library-media center—one large circular room with books. Just as an apartment has its room—the library, so the whole community could have a similar, only larger one. In the ring around it on the ground floor, there is service, on the first floor a reading room, and on the second a computer study room.
A house with an apartment for the caretaker, above the entrance to the underground garages, as their guard.
