The competition for the design of the nursing home in Prague 6 was won by Lennox architects and RANGHERKA 5

Prague – The architectural competition for the design of the planned new building of the long-term care hospital (LDN) on Drnovská Street in Prague 6 was won by a proposal from the studio Lennox architect and RANGHERKA 5. This is evident from the resolution of the councilors of the sixth city district. Prague 6 intends to build the new LDN in Ruzyně on municipal land between Drnovská, Pilotů, and Dědinská streets. A condition for the construction is a change in the zoning plan. The city hall previously estimated the construction costs for the LDN at 200 million crowns excluding VAT.

The single-round architectural competition for the design of the LDN Drnovská was announced by Prague 6 in June 2021. Nine participants submitted competition proposals. The proposals were evaluated by a jury that included architects Irena Šestáková, Jan Němec, Michal Kuzemenský, and David Mateásko, among others. The winning proposal was from the studio Lennox architect and RANGHERKA 5, second place was taken by a proposal from Adam Rujbr Architects, and third place by SOA architects.

The capacity of the LDN Drnovská is expected to be 101 to 104 beds. Should the building be constructed, the existing LDN in the former Chittussi Hospital in Bubeneč would move into the new premises in Ruzyně, as already decided by the representatives of the sixth city district in May 2020.
