We are a specialized architectural studio focused on timber buildings (prodesi) supported by a no less specialized execution company (domesi). We work as one team from the first sketches to handing over the keys to the completed construction. We perceive architecture as a complex field from the first sketch through the interior concept, project preparation, to handing over the keys to the completed building. For us, the architect's work always culminates in the completion and handover of the building. We always pay attention to the aesthetic and technical quality of our constructions. For inspiration, we travel around the world, and in this context, we also design our buildings.
In our constructions, we typically also design the interiors. In more complex projects, we collaborate with interior architects and interior studios for execution. This results in a cohesive architectural and design masterpiece. We often compare our houses more to pieces of furniture than to constructions.
We take energy efficiency as a given part of contemporary construction. At the same time, we are very humble about terms like low-energy or even passive house. Within both categories, we are capable of operating, but it requires a high level of knowledge and commitment from the first sketches. Despite the energy efficiency of the overwhelming majority of our designs and buildings, we do not compromise on high aesthetic standards. We do not create mere functional laboratories with maximum energy savings, but rather spaces where our clients will live or work well and comfortably.
The technology of timber buildings, in our understanding, represents high-tech in construction. We always strive to be at the forefront not only in terms of aesthetics but also material and technical aspects. We use a diffusively open system, which is increasingly prevalent worldwide, that is advantageous both for the internal climate of the building and the safety of the composition regarding building physics. For the load-bearing structure, we choose KVH timber, which also ranks very high on the quality scale. It is dried, planed, and very well-processed timber.
