Karel Hubáček

Two anniversaries associated with Ještět fall in 2013. In January 1963, the original mountain lodge with a hotel burned down, and after the decision was made to demolish the remaining part of this building, the way was opened for the construction of a new structure. However, the realization of the unique modern building designed by architect Karel Hubáček faced a number of issues. The completion of the entire building and its handover were delayed for several years until September 1973. The exhibition commemorating one of the most significant buildings of the 20th century in Bohemia will showcase many interesting items in written and visual documents as well as preserved objects from the original furnishings. Subsequently, visitors can also observe the independent life of the architect's idea, reflected in everyday objects and souvenirs from Ještět over the following decades after the completion of the work. The opening will take place on June 20, 2013, at 6:00 PM at the North Bohemian Museum in Liberec and the exhibition will last until September 15, 2013.
