Liberec – The Regional Gallery Liberec has launched the autumn season with three exhibitions. One of them is unusually only virtual. It focuses on the World Expo Osaka 1970 and the contribution of Czech architecture from the 1970s in a global context. The other two exhibitions present contemporary visual art and, according to gallery spokesperson Dagmar Fialová, provide a female perspective on today's world.

The exhibition in the virtual space titled "Osaka 1970: The Intersection of Czechoslovak and World Architecture" was prepared by architecture historian and theorist Ondřej Hojda. "The online exhibition format allows us to reach a wide audience. In this case, it is doubly commendable also because the Osaka pavilion did not receive nearly as much attention in the Czech context as the Czechoslovak pavilions at the world exhibitions in Brussels 1958 and Montreal 1967. The Expo Osaka 1970 was significant for shaping the modern world at least comparably to previous world exhibitions," stated Fialová.
