Eleven realizations of the architectural studio Projektil in the hands of leading contemporary photographers and artists.
If writing about music is like dancing about architecture, how does photographing architecture fare? And what about drawing, painting, or video? Where do they intersect, who solos, and who has trampled feet?
The exhibition tests the boundaries of representing architecture through the works of a studio renowned for its awards for the National Technical Library in Prague, the library in Hradec Králové, or the ecological center Sluňákov, as well as its ongoing interest in public space and open collaboration across disciplines.
A selection of the most interesting contemporary artists and photographers who do not typically engage with architecture in their work documents educational facilities, museums, or parks of Projektil in a rigorously diverse manner. Together, however, their focus on architecture as a determinant of the shape of life dismantles the prevailing conventions of architectural photography that favor striking empty forms.
Images are complemented by texts from the exhibition curator, Michal Nanoru.
