In České Budějovice, Japanese architect Hosaka is exhibiting

Czech Budějovice - An exhibition of Japanese architect Takeshi Hosaka began today at the House of Art in České Budějovice. In his work, visitors can trace respect for tradition, as well as elements of contemporary technologies, and the interplay of natural and geometric forms is evident, curator Michal Škoda told ČTK.

The thirty-eight-year-old Hosaka is considered by Škoda to be one of the most respected young authors of modern Japanese architecture. The České Budějovice exhibition is his first European activity. Hosaka presents a project he named Ku u so u (Fantasy) based on the concept. As part of the installation, the viewer has the opportunity to walk among sketches that bring the author's imagination closer or can sit on one of his folding chairs.
"When I create an architectural design, I always make sketches, of which 99 percent do not succeed. In the remaining percent, however, I discover amazing things. Ninety-nine percent of my Ku u so u are my failed attempts, but I still decided to let these sketches float freely. It is a certain open glimpse into my reality as an architect," Hosaka told reporters. He would like everyone to experience that miniature world of fantasy between reality and architectural design.
Hosaka graduated in architecture from Yokohama University in 2001, where he has been working as an educator since last year. Since 2004, he has been leading his own architectural studio, designing private houses, office buildings, kindergartens, schools, and restaurants, and also designs tables and chairs. He has received several international awards for his buildings.
The exhibition at the House of Art in the Přemysl Otakar II Square in České Budějovice will run until May 3.
