PROJEKTIL

In recent years, Projektil has made a name for itself as a studio that shortly after winning a competition for two libraries, received the Grand Prix of Architects for 2007 for the Sluňákov Environmental Education Center. The construction of the National Technical Library in Prague, located in close proximity to the Faculty of Architecture, is nearing completion, and the Study and Scientific Library in Hradec Králové opened this autumn.

In the Czech Republic, there are very few architectural studios whose work can boldly be categorized as contemporary, high-quality, and interesting European architecture, and which also focus on the integration of architecture into social structures. This freshness, or better yet fresh style, of Projektil breaks the Czech notions of austere architecture.

A very important aspect of the creative work of the architects of this studio is their collaboration with leading Czech designers, graphic artists, visual artists, and theorists of contemporary art. Thanks to this openness, Projektil participated in the reconstruction of two significant artistic spaces - galleries in the center of the metropolis presenting contemporary art - the Václav Špála Gallery and TranzitDisplay.

The exhibition of Projektil will not be a dry presentation of plans and models, but an atmosphere of joy from work and relaxation. The exhibition involves the graphic studio of Petr Babák, Laboratoř (who is also the author of the graphic design for the upcoming catalog), the design studio Hippos (co-authors of the NTK interior), and the artistic group Produkce Aktivit Současnosti (PAS), who collaborate with Projektil on the selection and installation of artworks in the NTK.
