New York – American architect Adrian Smith gained fame as the chief architect of the world's tallest building, the Burj Khalifa in Dubai. However, he has a number of significant constructions around the world, primarily in the USA, China, and Britain. This year, on August 19, Smith will celebrate his seventy-fifth birthday.

A native of Chicago, he studied architecture at Texas A&M University and the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. His first employer was the renowned Chicago firm Skidmore, Owings and Merrill, where he worked on most of his projects, including the Burj Khalifa.

He currently works for his own firm, Adrian Smith + Gordon Gill Architecture (AS + GG), which focuses on designing high-performance, energy-efficient, and sustainable architecture. The firm currently has projects in the USA, Saudi Arabia, Dubai, China, India, and Canada. One of them is the construction of Jeddah Tower in the Saudi Arabian city of Jeddah, which, at a height of around one thousand meters, is set to become the new tallest building in the world. The firm also designed the tallest residential building in the world, Central Park Tower, which is rising in the famous millionaire district in New York known as Billionaire's Row.
