Museum Folkwang in Essen designed by David Chipperfield

In Berlin, due to his project for the expansion of Museumsinsel, petitions are being signed and newspapers, along with heritage protection advocates, are conducting a witch hunt against him. Nevertheless, yesterday David Chipperfield managed to win another competition for the expansion of a museum in Essen, Germany. In mid-February, the competition committee decided not to award first place and allowed Chipperfield and Adjaye, who both finished in second place, to refine their projects. Both architects coincidentally have their studios in London. Yesterday, the committee definitively chose Chipperfield's design. Link>
The absurdity of the entire protest against Chipperfield’s museum in Berlin is further demonstrated by another report published yesterday, which states that the studio won a competition for the Aust Agder Museum in Norway.
