The New York Guggenheim will undergo reconstruction

Wright's museum has undergone various modifications over time. The most controversial was by Gwathmey Siegel and the most recent pergola on the rooftop terrace by Frank Gehry. The current renovation will cost 27 million dollars and will focus primarily on structural cracks in the facade and pavement. It will take place without interrupting the museum's operation and is expected to be completed in 2007, to be ready for its fiftieth anniversary two years later.
