Construction of a cucumber - a film about Swiss Re in London

Another film focusing exclusively on architectural themes is making its way to mainstream cinemas. This time, the main character of the story is not a person, but a building. The ninety-minute film documents the planning process and construction of the London headquarters of Swiss Re designed by Norman Foster. Director Mirjam von Arx received an award for Best Reportage at the 24th FIFA film festival in Montreal for her film. The film will have its UK premiere on June 21, 2006, at the Barbican Centre in London, but it is already being screened in five German cinemas starting today. Info>
