Brno – The issuance of a building permit for more than 300 cooperative apartments in the Brno district of Přízřenice is expected by the city this year at the turn of September and October. Klára Opálková from the press center of the Brno magistrate informed ČTK. The apartments, intended for families and individuals, will be built on Moravanská Street. According to the original assumption, cooperative housing in Přízřenice was supposed to be ready this year. However, preparations have been complicated by, for example, complicated permitting processes, Opálková noted.

"Přízřenice is one of the designated development areas in the housing strategy. It is a development area Brno-south, in the built-up part of the municipality,” said Opálková. According to her, apartments could be created there by 2030. Everything will depend on when a contractor can be selected, Opálková remarked. There will be 323 apartments with various layouts. They include apartments from 1+kk up to penthouses sized 4+kk. The most apartments are expected to be three-room apartments.

The construction of cooperative housing in Přízřenice has been planned for several years. "The zoning decision was secured according to the old building law with characteristic delays in securing opinions and proceedings, while the approval of the intention was already according to the new building law. A significant portion of the delays in the approval process was caused by the complicated solution for connecting the houses to the sewer due to the insufficient capacity of the sewer network for the originally considered solution for drainage,” Opálková said.

Brno is also planning cooperative housing in other locations. In the fall, construction will begin on Kamenný vrch in Nový Lískovec, with 280 of the 353 apartments being cooperative. Further cooperative housing should also be created, for example, on Mostecká Street, in the Holásky district in Brno-Tuřany, on Francouzská Street, or in the Rumiště area.
