Architecture in Perspective 2017 - Invitation to the 9th Annual Conference
Architecture and Urbanism since the second half of the 20th century
Conference of the Department of Architecture of the Faculty of Civil Engineering VŠB-TU in Ostrava held on November 2-3, 2017, in Hall NA2 in the New Aula of the VSB – Technical University of Ostrava
We are pleased to invite you for the ninth time to an international and interdisciplinary conference dedicated to architecture and urbanism.
The organizers aim to continue the discussion on the relationship between society and architecture and urbanism. Representatives from disciplines other than architecture also have the opportunity to present contributions, thus opening space for further questions. It is possible to submit articles from the fields of social sciences, economics, geography, construction, and others.
The purpose of the conference is to seek and evaluate the current state of knowledge in architecture with the shortest history not only from the perspective of various fields but also experiences from different countries with their distinct development and approaches.
Contributions will be published in a printed proceedings with ISBN, which will be submitted for evaluation to Web of Science (the previous two years were included in WoS).
Topics of contributions may relate to the following areas:
1. Urbanism and public space in cities
2. Rural space and rural architecture
3. Contemporary architectural trends
4. Restoration and conversion of objects and architectural complexes
5. Ecological aspects in architecture
Participation fees:
Participant with an article in the proceedings: 600 CZK + 250 CZK / standard page of text (standard page = 1800 characters + 1 image)
Contribution without publication in the proceedings: 600 CZK
Participation in the conference as a co-author: 600 CZK
Commercial presentation (15 minutes): 5000 CZK

Please send abstracts of contributions (150 - 250 words) to the address: [email protected] by May 31, 2017.
A report on the acceptance/rejection of the contribution will be sent to you by June 10, 2017. The organizers reserve the right to reject the proposed contribution.
Final texts (in Czech, Slovak, Polish, or English) + 2 reviews must be submitted no later than July 31, 2017 according to the instructions that will be sent to you by email.
Presentation at the conference without publication in the proceedings

A report on the acceptance/rejection of the contribution will be sent to you by October 10, 2017. The organizers reserve the right to reject the proposed contribution.
Additional fees:
Proceedings additionally (authors automatically receive 1 copy) 200 CZK
Social evening 400 CZK (can be paid on site)
The working language of the conference will be Czech, Slovak, Polish, and English.
