Česká Třebová – Česká Třebová will open a new Pavilion C of the senior citizens' home at the beginning of October. The costs for the construction portion of the largest city investment since the establishment of the transport terminal, amounting to 330 million crowns, will reach approximately 280 million crowns, with further funds required for the furnishing of the facility, said the mayor Zdeněk Řehák (3PK – For Prosperous CT) to ČTK. The city secured a grant from the National Recovery Plan for the construction, and the fulfillment of the grant conditions was confirmed by the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs.

Originally, the building was to be completed by the end of last year. However, the city hall had to request an extension of the completion deadline to mid this year due to a tight schedule associated with complications in the establishment of the construction, which the grant provider approved.

Pavilion C is located near the senior citizens' home in Bezděkov on a portion of land formerly owned by the company Böhm Plast Technik. The industrial area was purchased by the city years ago and the production buildings were demolished.

Building C resembles a two-winged structure with three above-ground floors, which is connected to the existing Building A. It will contain 62 beds, of which ten will serve as a respite care service, 25 for a home with a special regime, and 27 for the senior citizens' home. There are 38 parking spaces by the building. The pavilion is in trial operation, and the first clients will move in in October. According to Řehák, there is great interest in placements in the home.

Part of the furnishings related to the construction, such as kitchen units, are included in the project budget. Additional furniture, such as tables, chairs, or special beds, must be financed by the city with the help of another grant.

The existing senior citizens' home has a capacity of about 100 places and two pavilions. One is from 2003, while the other building dates back to 1910. The older one originally served as a poorhouse and has been a retirement home since 1947. The last reconstruction there was in 1978.

The new building will replace Pavilion B from 1910, which does not meet current standards due to its specifications; for example, the rooms lack showers and toilets. In addition to the technical condition, the building's inadequate layout poses problems that complicate staff interactions with immobile clients and do not allow for sufficient privacy. Therefore, all clients will move from it to Pavilion C. The future fate of the building has not yet been decided by the city, but according to Řehák, it will likely serve as the technical operational background of the home.
