Fumel - The French architect Jean Nouvel, who will celebrate his seventy-fifth birthday on August 12, has also made his mark in the domestic environment with his work. The holder of the prestigious Pritzker Prize in 2008 is, among other things, the author of the administration complex Golden Angel in Prague's Smíchov. Among Nouvel's recent projects are the headquarters of the Paris Philharmonic (2015), a branch of the Louvre Museum in Abu Dhabi (2017), and the Qatari National Museum in Doha (2019).

The architect renowned for his glass, luminous, and slightly futuristic works draws inspiration even from science fiction films by Ridley Scott. Some of Nouvel's key works include the Arab World Institute building (1981 to 1987), which transforms with light and is situated opposite the Notre Dame Cathedral in central Paris, and the optically dematerialized Cartier Foundation building (1994) on Raspail Boulevard in Paris.

For his creative experimentation and for building designs that communicate with their surroundings, Nouvel received the Pritzker Prize in 2008, the highest honor in the field of architecture. The jury particularly appreciated his design for the Guthrie Theatre building in Minneapolis, USA (2006). Nouvel is also behind projects such as the Parisian museum of tribal art on Quai Branly, the Torre Agbar (now Torre Glories) skyscraper in Barcelona, and the Puerta América hotel in Madrid.
