Hradec Králové - The Černigov hotel in Hradec Králové, which the CPI company wants to demolish and replace with a new building worth one billion crowns, is not a cultural monument. The Ministry of Culture will not initiate administrative proceedings for its inclusion in the list of monuments. Hradecký deník reports this in its current issue.

"The undeniable quality of the mass composition of the Černigov hotel is diminished by the shortcomings in the planning detail and poor-quality details," states the ministry's announcement. The intention to demolish the hotel has sparked a discussion, and a petition for its preservation has also been created. "We are not giving up yet," commented architect Jiří Zídka, whose father is the author of the building.
The panel hotel Černigov from the 1970s is the tallest building in the city, located at Riegrovo náměstí next to the main train station of Czech Railways. CPI intends to replace it with a complex featuring a four-star Clarion hotel, supplemented by a convention center, offices, and retail spaces at street level. The project includes a commercial courtyard with restaurants and a café.
