Humpolec - Humpolec in the Pelhřimov region is preparing to build a new sports hall. The estimated costs are 150 million crowns. It is expected to be completed by the end of 2026. This was announced to journalists today by representatives of the city hall.

The new hall will replace the old one, which the city acquired from the local organization TJ Jiskra along with the gymnasium at the beginning of this year.

The original hall is functional, but its reconstruction would be complicated due to the construction technology used. It dates back to the early 1980s. The city hall decided on its demolition and the construction of a new multipurpose hall. It will serve schools, 11 clubs operated by TJ Jiskra Humpolec, including a basketball club, a handball club, and a sports gymnastics club, as well as other organizations. "The hall will be designed to meet the criteria for maximum utilization. Thanks to partitions, it will be possible to use it for two sports simultaneously," said the city's deputy mayor Martin Hendrych (Pirates). The hall will also be expanded with a stand and additional facilities that will also serve the neighboring athletic stadium.

The city aims to obtain a thirty-million grant from the National Sports Agency and 25 million crowns provided by the Vysočina Region for sports infrastructure.

Humpolec will have the project documentation for the construction available in mid-December.
