Karlovy Vary - Karlovy Vary want to calm the urban areas of Pod Jelením skokem and Na Vyhlídce, where regulations regarding construction activity or transportation are to be applied, for example. The city values both areas due to their location right in the spa center or their connection to it. There are also a number of historical buildings and protected monuments here. The regulatory plan could be implemented as early as next year. This was stated by the deputy mayor Petr Keřka.

In the area of Pod Jelením skokem, the regulation will cover an area of around two hectares. The plan includes, for example, that suppliers will deliver from the rear parts to the stores and hotels located on the busy pedestrian zone Stará Louka, via the road built by the city two years ago. Parking facilities for hotel guests are also planned to be created here. "All activities will have to comply with the rules of the regulatory plan. We cannot allow the usual operations here as in other non-spa parts of the city," said Keřka.
The regulatory plan will also restrict any construction activity in the areas of Pod Jelením skokem and Stará Louka. "Any further construction intent will be assessed according to the regulatory plan and the related urban study. It will specify, for example, the maximum number of floors of a building, the color of the façade, and other construction details that must be adhered to. The same will apply to traffic and construction in the area of Na Vyhlídce, especially in the area of the Jean de Carro trail," said Keřka.
Currently, none of the urban parts of Karlovy Vary is subject to a regulatory plan. Various restrictions only apply to the colonnades and pedestrian zones. However, all activities here are subject to municipal regulations. These, however, do not address issues related to traffic and construction comprehensively as one whole, but separately.
