Prague – The Central Bohemian Region is looking for a new director for the Central Bohemian Museum in Roztoky near Prague. The current director, Zita Suchánková, is retiring after 15 years at the helm of the museum. The region will announce a selection procedure for her successor, who should take up the position in July, spokesman for the regional authority David Šíma informed CTK today.
Candidates must have a university education and at least two years of experience. They should present their developmental concept for the museum by 2027. The selection committee will evaluate their proposals for organizing exhibitions, professional and popularization projects, or expanding the collection of artifacts.
Suchánková took over the museum in 2007. During her tenure, the reconstruction of the castle was completed, including social and exhibition spaces, and the area of the Brauner Mill was renovated. The exhibitions at the Roztoky museum have received several awards in the Gloria musealis competition. The latest multimedia archaeological exhibition, Archevita, prepared by the museum under Suchánková's leadership, has been nominated for the exhibition of the year award 2022 in this competition.
