Líbeznice (near Prague) - Líbeznice near Prague is planning the construction of a multi-purpose fire station. It is intended to serve volunteer firefighters as well as workers of technical services. The municipality has announced an architectural competition for the design of the building. This continues the renovation of the town center.

The town hall estimates the costs to be around seven million crowns and intends to start work as soon as possible, but due to the planned use of subsidies and the deadlines for issuing the tender, it probably won’t happen this year. "We will likely start next year," Deputy Mayor František Závorka told ČTK today.

The project is to include construction modifications to the existing facilities of the technical services, with plans for parking spaces for fire trucks and municipal equipment, a changing room, a club room, social and other facilities, a workshop, shelters, and similar.

Architects can submit their designs until the end of May this year, and the commission is expected to choose the best one at the beginning of June. In addition to the costs of construction, the commission will also evaluate the operating costs of the proposed building during the selection process.

For example, Líbeznice recently completed the renovation of the attic spaces of the main school building for nearly 40 million crowns. The municipality operates with an annual budget of about 50 million crowns.
