Melnik - Melnik has begun the renovation of the area in front of the Masaryk Cultural Center, which is a protected monument. The place should become more representative. It is expected to be completed in October. This year, the city has already painted the entrance hall of the building, spokesperson for the Melnik town hall Jan Denemark Nováček informed ČTK in a press release today.

The space in front of the building will be covered with granite slabs, and sandstone elements will also be added, which have been gradually damaged over the previous decades. "The events organized by the Melnik Cultural Center will not be affected by the construction work in the cultural center and its surroundings. We have found a solution with the city that allows them to be organized, so none of them will be canceled," said the director of the Melnik Cultural Center Pavel Dvořák.

This year, an elevator and a bridge in the technical background of the theater will also be added to the Masaryk Cultural Center, and the stage will receive modifications. At the beginning of the year, the building received new sound equipment costing almost 13 million crowns. The renovation of the area in front of the building will cost around four million crowns, and another investment will be about two million crowns. The town hall management is planning further modifications to the vicinity of the protected building.
