Young Boleslav wants to modify the area under the castle

Mladá Boleslav - Mladá Boleslav wants to adjust the area under the castle in the coming years. A comprehensive complex is to be created here, which will include offices and space for leisure activities. Investments will amount to several hundred million crowns, said magistrate spokesperson Šárka Charousková to ČTK.

This year, the city completed another part of the reconstruction of Ptácká Street, which is an important traffic artery. Next in line is the repair of Na Klenici Street for 5.5 million crowns, which was supposed to start this year, but due to the weather, the start of construction work will likely be postponed until spring.

"The adjustments will definitely be much larger than just the reconstruction of the streets; there should be something like a complex that could partially serve as offices and largely as a place for leisure time with shops, cafes, and so on," Charousková said.

The city will cooperate with the car manufacturer Škoda Auto in the revitalization of this area, which is also expected to participate in the investments. The company established a foundation to support the Mladoboleslav region, into which it has invested 30 million euros (about 750 million crowns), which will be invested in projects such as transportation, housing, and safety.

The area under the castle has been changing gradually for several years. For example, Škoda Auto has built its development centers here. If everything goes well, the area should get a new look in about four years. Due to the planned adjustments, the city must purchase several plots of land and properties.
