Prague - On the last available plot on Národní street in Prague 1, a five-star hotel is likely to be built. The city council sold the land last year for what appears to be a record price of 234,700 crowns per square meter. The architectural study is currently being reviewed by the urban development committee of Prague 1, which had some comments regarding it, said its chairman Filip Dvořák (ODS) today to reporters.

According to plans, the new building is to be connected with the adjacent Baroque palace on Mikulandská street, which, according to Dvořák, was purchased by the investor Central European Financial Management. Architects should better consider how the hotel construction will affect the palace, Dvořák stated. The committee also wants to know how parking for hotel guests and parking in the surrounding area will be resolved, he added.
The current study, according to Dvořák, is the first proposal. The architects will now address the committee's comments, and a revised proposal will be discussed by the committee within two months, said its chairman.
"No voices against the use of the newly proposed building were heard at the committee meeting," continued Dvořák. The investor must take into account that it will be under close scrutiny from experts as well as the public, he added.
The city sold the plot to Ditrich for 183.77 million crowns. In the price map, the value of these plots is estimated at 22,090 crowns per square meter. According to Dvořák, the company Dittrich has approached Central European Financial Management, which intends to invest about half a billion crowns into the construction of the hotel with approximately 140 rooms.
According to the original plans of the Dittrich company, the building was to include a relaxation facility, a lobby, a restaurant, and a shop on the ground floor. There were supposed to be hotel rooms on three floors of the building, and three other floors would be apartments.
