On road I/68 between Bystřice and Třinec, the repair of noise barriers is starting

Třinec – On the I/68 road in the Frýdek-Místek area, repair work on noise barriers will begin in the section between Bystřice and Třinec-Oldřichovice. Drivers should expect traffic restrictions there. In addition to a reduction in the number of lanes, the maximum permitted speed will also be limited. The repair will take less than a month. Miroslav Mazal, spokesperson for the Road and Motorway Directorate, informed ČTK today.

The barriers are still under warranty, so their repair will be covered by the contractor. Climatic conditions caused the covering nets of the outer parts of the panels made from eco-recycled material to detach. However, according to the spokesperson, the aesthetic defects do not threaten the functionality of the barriers.

"Together with the supplier of the barriers, we are trying to find a solution primarily for the cosmetic issue to prevent the defect from recurring in the future," Mazal stated.
