Hradec Králové - The civic association Poco a poco animato will open an exhibition titled Fast Art (Keep walking) from the project Po(d)chodem vchod! in the underpass below Karel IV. street in the center of Hradec Králové on Wednesday, October 28. The works of the artists will be on display until the end of this year, the association informed ČTK.
The association aims to bring new elements to the existing architecture of the city, to enliven the underpass, and to present contemporary art to passersby. In eight display cases located in this unconventional space, works by sculptor Pavel Doskočil and artist Milan Langr will be exhibited, among others.
"The aim of the project is to temporarily bring new attractiveness and significance to the side alley of the underpass, which many visitors must pass through with great reluctance every day," said Dominika Špalková from the civic association. The idea of creating an unconventional gallery in the underpass was proposed years ago by artist Zuzana Bramborová, and the association reached an agreement with the Hradec Králové city hall, which owns the display cases in the underpass, to establish the gallery.
Poco a poco animato has been operating in Hradec Králové since 2005 and focuses primarily on supporting young artists by organizing regular cultural events.
