Pardubice - The city of Pardubice is preparing the renewal of the park Na Špici at the confluence of the Elbe and Chrudimka rivers. According to the project, it should retain its natural character. The city hall and architects will present the project to the public on February 1 in the Historical Hall of the Pardubice City Hall. This was communicated to ČTK by Karolína Koupalová from the Department of the Chief Architect.

"We are organizing a presentation to familiarize the public with the city's plans. People's comments can certainly be incorporated into the prepared project," Koupalová stated.
The architects' project considers preserving the natural character of the park. It aims to repair and supplement the network of paths, which are currently cracked and raised in some places. The playgrounds and other sports areas in the park should be reconstructed.
The riverside of the Elbe should also be revitalized, where a path is to be created, and docks will be built directly on the river. The project also includes connecting the park to the center via a footbridge over the Chrudimka River. The footbridge will also assist cyclists and pedestrians, as it will connect Dubina with the city center.
The project is being developed by Ateliér M1 architekti s.r.o. and will cost nearly four dozen million crowns.
In addition to the park Na Špici, the renovation of třídy Míru and Tyršovy sady is also set to begin this year. The expenses for these investments should be covered 85 percent by European grants. From its own budget, the city will complete the repairs of the swimming complex. The city of Pardubice aims to invest 500 million crowns in 2012, which is 200 million less than last year. The city's budget is expected to be balanced at 1.863 billion crowns.
