Pardubice - Pardubice want to build two new footbridges for pedestrians and cyclists across the Elbe. One should connect the Závodu míru housing estate with Polabiny, and the other should connect the park Na Špici with the Cihelna swimming pool on the opposite bank. The first of them is closer to its inception, said Deputy Mayor Helena Dvořáčková (ANO) to ČTK.

"One landowner needed for the bridge at Na Špici is still appealing and alleges bias. She challenges the zoning decision, and in four years, no final decision has been reached," Dvořáčková stated.

The bridge between the Závodu míru housing estate and Polabiny could begin construction as early as this year, at the latest by spring next year. The project is ready, but it will be necessary to approve the approximately 40 million crowns needed in the city's budget. A building permit is also awaited.

The city wants to finance both constructions with the help of a grant from the integrated territorial investments (ITI) program of the Hradec-Pardubice agglomeration. The grant should cover about 90 percent of the eligible costs.
