Pardubice will soon begin repairs on the Na Špici park

Pardubice - Pardubice will soon begin repairs on the Na Špici park. According to Deputy Mayor František Brendl, the location at the confluence of the Elbe and Chrudimka rivers will become one of the most attractive places for relaxation and recreational activities in the city. The work should be completed by the end of this year, the deputy told ČTK.
"Today we selected the winner of the competition, which was won by the company Gardenline. The park is to have a new look within nine months of signing the contract,” Brendl stated. According to him, the contract with the winning company is to be signed in mid-March.
The revitalization includes the repair of the playground, the construction of a new children's playground, and the construction of an educational pavilion, which will also serve as a facility for athletes, mothers with children, and caregivers. Planned renovations include paths and paved areas, bank modifications, a pier, and park and planting adjustments. The winning company will carry out the work for just under 36 million crowns. The repairs will be partially funded by the European Union.
"We managed to include the construction of a footbridge over the Chrudimka river in the project. The nearest bridge is all the way up at Bělobranského náměstí. This is relatively far for mothers with strollers or elderly people. The footbridge will effectively connect the Na Špici park with Tyršovy sady and the castle, creating a unique walking and recreational zone,” Brendl added.
Before starting the repairs, the city wanted to have the Čičák lake dredged by the end of October last year. Ultimately, they abandoned the plan. The winning bid for dredging the Čičák was 4.7 million without VAT. After the first two companies withdrew, the third participant in the competition requested 7.2 million crowns without VAT, which was too large an increase for the city management.
The city hall also plans to repair Tyršovy sady, but the selection procedure is still not closed because the anti-monopoly office canceled it. The work was supposed to start in February; the city hall received a postponement to April. The city hall has reserved European funding of over 76 million crowns for the park. There is also a prepared revitalization of the Vinice park for 60 million crowns, but it is uncertain whether the project will be completed. There is a chance for funding, for example, if the modifications to Tyršovy sady do not succeed.
