Prague - The Prague 4 City Hall has commissioned a territorial planning study for Michle, which will determine how, where, and what can potentially be built. Jiří Bigas, the spokesperson, communicated this in response to a query from ČTK. It is expected to be completed and valid between the years 2020 and 2021. Although the study is not a binding document, it must be considered in the future. The developer is the studio Archum architects.
"The territorial study proposes options for the development of the area and solutions to its problems. It is a basis for decision-making in the area and must be taken into account. The territorial study of Michle is also a basis for changes to the territorial plan," said Bigas.
The draft study addresses issues such as transport. Among other things, it preserves the current street network, assesses individual intersections, and proposes any necessary modifications. In certain locations, parking spaces are added, and tree planting has been proposed.
The study also regulates possible construction in terms of height and volume. This refers, for example, to the vicinity of Ohradní street. Green spaces are planned in Lower Michle, and the bed of the Botič river will undergo modifications as concrete will be removed from the banks, returning them to a natural state.
At the turn of this October and November, comments from Prague 4, the city hall, and the public will be incorporated into the study. A clean copy of the material will then be discussed by the committee for territorial development of Prague 4 and also be shared with the public. Subsequently, the study will be registered as a basis for a change to the territorial plan. Between 2020 and 2021, it should then be registered as a basis for further decision-making. "Until then, even an unregistered study can serve as a guide for the building authority's decision-making in the area," added Bigas.
Prague 4 has approximately 130,000 residents and is the largest part of the capital city. It includes the cadastral areas of Nusle, Michle, Podolí, Braník, Hodkovičky, Krč, and parts of the municipality of Lhotka, as well as parts of the cadastral areas of Záběhlice and several houses in Vinohrady.
