Prague

Prague - The capital city wants to end the deliberation of some significant changes to the zoning plan from the past. It would like to put a definitive end to, for example, the change that aimed to allow the construction of a new National Library building in Letná. This follows from documents that were approved by the city's council this week. They were published on the internet. The proposals still need to be approved by the city assembly next week.

The city council has rejected several significant changes that are no longer relevant and whose deliberation has been suspended for a long time. The discussion about the change concerning the construction of a new National Library building, according to architect Kaplický's proposal, has been suspended since spring 2007. The city does not want to continue with the preparation of the change because the library construction project has previously failed.
The change allowing for the expansion of Gutovka Park in Prague 10 on the site of the demolished Bečvář villa south of V Olšinách Street should also be stopped. The land is privately owned and construction is possible on it. The owner, who disagrees with the change, already has an issued zoning decision for residential construction. If the city hall tries to change his land into a park, it could face a lawsuit according to the approved resolution.
The council members also expressed negatively regarding the plan to build a commercial administrative center in Petrovice and outdated proposals for the locations of Bubny - Zátory and Florenc - Masarykovo nádraží. The last two areas are already being addressed by the office through other changes.
The council members also rejected the change related to the reconstruction of former freezing facilities in Sedlec into residential development, further residential construction in Bohdalec, and the expansion of the old Vršovice town hall. They also disagreed with the change that aimed to allow extensive development around the Roztyly metro station. The investor plans to build administrative and residential buildings, a hotel, a relaxation center, parking, a boulevard, and a park there. Due to the disagreement of the hygienists, the plan for residential construction in Modřany should also be rejected.
On the other hand, the council members agreed to issue a change that should allow for the relocation of the tram loop to the transfer hub near the Hostivař depot. A railway stop should also be created at the site.
