Prague - Residents of Prague or developers can track changes to the zoning plan in a new application that will provide information about all current and past changes. It aims to improve awareness and the discussion of changes. Today, it was announced to journalists by Deputy Mayor Petra Kolínská (SZ/Trojkoalice). People can find the application at www.zmenaplanu.cz. In addition to searching the list, users can set up automatic monitoring of specific changes. The application was created by the city organization Institute of Planning and Development (IPR).
"In Prague, hundreds of changes are discussed annually, and it is difficult to keep track of them. Therefore, we wanted to organize all the data we have available into a clear system where even laypeople can search for information about the area they are interested in,” said Kolínská.
The application allows users to browse individual changes and find the most current information about them. People can search by the change number, status of the discussion, or by a specific location. They can also set their search to select a particular city district or area in Prague, and the system will automatically show them all changes affecting the selected area. It is also possible to mark the entire city. All changes are available in both text and map form.
Users also have the option to register in the system and create their user account. This is done through an icon labeled as a watchdog. "They choose the area in which they are interested in changes to the zoning plan, and this watchdog will monitor the entire process for them. As soon as there is any change, it will send them an email,” said Jiří Čtyřoký from IPR.
The system is currently operating in a trial mode. The final version could be completed in 14 days. IPR did not disclose the costs. "We did not outsource it, but it was developed at IPR,” said Čtyřoký.
Since the system was implemented, the city expects that it will ease the workload of officials and simultaneously accelerate the discussion process for builders' plans. "The public and city districts will learn about them in time and will not surprise each other with builders in advanced stages of proceedings. I believe that it will be a tool not only for citizens but also for investors, landowners, and city districts, as they will have updated and complete data,” said Kolínská.
IPR is a municipal contributory organization responsible for urban planning. It was established by transforming the City Development Authority under former Mayor Tomáš Hudeček (then of TOP 09). IPR's annual budget is approximately 300 million CZK.
