Prague - Prague city councilors approved another 18 changes to the zoning plan, which will allow, for example, the construction of a boatyard in Hodkovičky, the transformation of the Pragovka site in Záběhlice into residential units, and the expansion of Václav Havel Airport. These changes are part of the so-called waves 06 and 07, which the city council agreed upon in the last and the one before the last electoral term. "We have thoroughly reviewed the changes, there are no comments from the city districts," said Deputy Mayor Tomáš Hudeček (TOP 09) regarding the material. Five changes were suspended by the council. The changes will enable, for example, the construction of a boatyard in Hodkovičky, the transformation of the area near the Strahov Tunnel on Grafická Street in Smíchov into a hotel, as well as the expansion of Václav Havel Airport and the construction of a recreational complex in Benice. The Pragovka site at the intersections of Pražská and Strašnická streets in Záběhlice will also see changes. The applicant for the change is Orco Investment, and the site is to be repurposed for housing. The changes will also allow for the construction of family homes in Hostivař, Velká Chuchle, and in the area of V Zákopech near the Kunratická connection in Písnice. In the case of Písnice, Central Group and Ekospol are the applicants according to the material. The local council in Libuš, under which Písnice falls, does not agree with the construction. Initially, even health authorities opposed the plans, as a bypass for Písnice is intended to run through the area, but later they changed their stance to a conditional agreement. Ultimately, the change concerning the area of K Červenému dvoru in Strašnice was suspended, where a multifunctional complex with apartments, shops, and offices is to be developed. This concerns land near the Žižkov Freight Railway Station, which is currently designated for services, production, and railway sidings. However, a major transport artery, the Jarovská connection, is planned nearby in the future, as pointed out by the City Development Department during the discussion of the changes. The change was opposed by the organization Ropid, which plans public transport in Prague. Some city councilors also voiced their opposition. "The area is transportically remote. The construction will tie into low villa development; if we approve it, we will permanently damage the area," said councilor Miroslav Poche (ČSSD).
