Prague - Prague’s councilors rejected the majority of the comments submitted by the city districts regarding the concept of the urban plan. They suggested, for instance, to remove the expansion of the airport, the landfill in Ďáblice, or to change part of the route of the Prague Ring Road. Instead, the councilors supported the opinion of the Kbely district, which opposes the establishment of aircraft repair facilities. The councilors reached a compromise regarding a potential new bridge over the Vltava between Prague 2 or 4 on one bank and Prague 5 on the other bank.
The city districts sent around 60 significant comments to Prague. Their discussion lasted several hours today. The councilors rejected, for example, the proposal from Prague 4 for a possible tram connection between Podolské nábřeží and Pankrác. Comments from the city districts opposing the expansion of Václav Havel Airport were also dismissed.
The councilors also did not comply with the representatives from Běchovice, who demanded that the route of the Prague Ring Road be shifted outside the city of Prague. According to Běchovice councilor Petra Šubrtová, the ring road will cross densely populated areas. "If we don't obtain a credible expert assessment of both variants, we will have no choice but to continue opposing the outdated route," she stated. Běchovice had previously been successful in court with their objections. Lower Chabry and Suchdol also wanted to intervene in the route of the ring road, but the council rejected it.
The district of Ďáblice was also unsuccessful, as they oppose the planned expansion of the local landfill. "What concept says that the future of Prague, concerning waste disposal, should rely on an 18-year-old gigantic landfill in Ďáblice?" asked the mayor of Ďáblice, Miloš Růžička. Deputy Mayor Josef Nosek (ODS) responded by saying that the city still has not been able to find another location that could serve as a landfill.
Troja requested that the construction of a tram line along Stromovka to Podbaby be verified, but the councilors disagreed. They also rejected the same city hall's request for adjustments to height regulations in nearby Bubny, where extensive construction is planned.
After a long discussion, the councilors agreed, upon Deputy Nosek's proposal, to keep a reserve in the urban plan for two bridges on the southern edge of the center. The city districts do not agree on where the bridge should be located and whether it should serve only public transport or also vehicle traffic. The urban plan will now allow for both the expansion of the bridge at Výtoni and a new crossing in the Dvory area.
After lengthy debate, the councilors supported the position of the Kbely City Hall, which does not want aircraft repair facilities on its territory. These would be established near the current military airport. "The Military Accommodation Authority and the Ministry of Defense insist on the repairs, while Kbely is supported by the hygienist," Nosek remarked. According to him, the dispute should be resolved at a negotiation meeting at the Ministry for Regional Development.
The material concerning the location of a recycling center in Řeporyje was withdrawn. The city district disagrees with the construction, with Mayor Marcela Holovská stating that the center would be built only about 100 meters from residential buildings.
