Prague - The project documentation for the new metro line D will be prepared by the company Metroprojekt, with the materials costing 440 million without VAT. ČTK learned this from data published in the public procurement bulletin. The same company also designed the new metro stations A to Motol, which have been serving passengers since last year.

Metro D will connect the center of Prague with the southern part of the city. Projectors estimate the costs to be approximately 50 billion crowns. The first section is expected to be completed by the end of 2022. However, it is unclear whether the anticipated deadline will be met. The years-long planned construction is complicated by land acquisitions. Although Prague recently applied for a building permit, according to a recent statement by the mayor's deputy Petra Kolínská (SZ/Trojkoalice), the proceedings will be interrupted precisely because the city does not have the consent of all landowners.

The metro line D will lead from Náměstí Míru to Písnice. The first part to be constructed will be from Pankrác to the Depo Písnice station, followed by the section from Pankrác to Náměstí Míru. In total, there will be ten new stations. The new line will operate driverless trains.

The newly opened metro stations A to Motol last year cost about 20 billion crowns.
