OK Plan architects - Extension of the hall for Hranipex a.s.

Pelhřimov - Today in Pelhřimov, the titles of Prestigious Building of the Highlands 2007 were awarded. Experts praised the new sports hall in Nové Veselí, the expansion of the Hranipex company in Komorovice, the reconstruction of the IMCA passage in Velké Meziříčí, and the repair of the road bridge in Jaroměřice nad Rokytnou. Five other new constructions in the region received honorable mentions.
    In this year's sixth edition of the regional competition for the Building of the Highlands, 21 buildings were registered in five categories. The prestigious title was not awarded in the residential category, as the judges did not find any buildings that met the criteria among the entries, said Martin Pertl from the Building Association of Highlands, the organizer of the competition, to ČTK. The jury was led by František Pšenička from the Faculty of Architecture at the Czech Technical University in Prague.
    The hall in Nové Veselí won among civic amenities, mainly due to the design of the layout and interior. The investor of the multipurpose sports facility was the town, and the project was provided by the Žďár-based company Santis. The expansion of the Hranipex company, which became the best industrial building in the region last year, was designed by the architect Luděk Rýzner from Humpolec. Experts appreciated its generous artistic and structural solution throughout the building. The company manufactures edges for furniture.
    The reconstruction of the IMCA passage in the center of Velké Meziříčí was designed by local architect Miloš Charvát. The transformation of the passage, which contains shops and service establishments across two floors, was also monitored by conservationists. This building in the competition also received the greatest recognition from the public. Among transportation projects, the best repair of the bridge on the regional road in Jaroměřice was selected. Experts appreciated the sensitive integration of the original baroque sculptures into the new artistic and structural concept of the bridge. The competition also included the evaluation of student projects.
